Benefits of an informative summer education!

 In Education

Children’s interest in learning doesn’t stop during July and August!  They need and want something to do during this time and miss playing with their friends.  Typically, they also enjoy a change of pace, particularly in the hot weather and we have carefully carved an exciting program to make it fun and enjoyable.

The children see different birds, plant in our garden, possibly see the “Great Blue Heron” behind the school and watch the many migrating birds visiting the pond. Other ‘summer residents’ they get a chance to see include a snowy egret, barn swallow, Canada geese, goldfinch, grey squirrel, and lots and lots of daddy long-leg spiders.

The Summer Splash program is especially designed, so children can learn in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The curriculum combines new and stimulating activities along with the full Montessori curriculum.  Our one-and-a-half acre school in a residential neighborhood is natural, quiet & serene enough to feel like a country back yard.  There is ample space to play as well as quiet places to work. You ought to see to believe!

Classrooms are designed so children can move inside and out at will. A flexible routine means children have time to explore something new, enjoy a favorite activity, or chat with a friend in the shade.

“Civilization has slowly withdrawn the natural environment from the child.  Not only has the accelerated rhythm of adult life proved to be an obstacle to the child, but the advent of machines has swept away his last places of refuge like a whirlwind.”
